Our logo represents the “shield of faith” from Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. It stands a reminder of “the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints” (Jude 3). The Saltire, or the diagonal cross in the shape of an “X,” which overlays the shield, is the symbol for St. Andrew. The apostle was put to death by the Roman authorities on an X-shaped cross. The double fishhook has a double meaning: Andrew’s original occupation as fisherman and his call to become a fisher of men.
