Membership in ‘The Order of the Daughters of the King’ is open to all women at every stage of life who desire a closer walk with the Lord. These Christian women, both lay and ordained, are strengthened through the discipline of a ‘Rule of Life’, and supported through the companionship of their sisters. Each member of the DOK is at a different stage of their Christian journey – some have just begun and some have been on this path for a long time. However, no matter where they are on their sacred journey, their primary goal is the same – to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others. The diversity of ages strengthens and enriches all our women. Junior DOK members benefit from the discipleship of experienced spiritual mentors, and Senior DOK members are invigorated by the fresh faith and energy of our younger women. Many senior chapters help spread the Kingdom to the next generation by sponsoring and supporting a Junior Daughters chapter at their churches.
The name of the DOK chapter here at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Farmers Branch is: “Chrestotes which in Greek χρηστότης means ‘kindness’.
Members of Chrestotes Chapter of DOK: Janet Dawson, Ann Hausmann, Lynn Koutney, Debbie Sharp, Faith Thomas, Rachel Thomas, and JoAnn Zastovnik.
Please know that any of our DOK women are happy to speak to you if you are interested in knowing more about the DOK or if you feel called to go through the study sessions required for becoming a member of the DOK. Let us know how we can serve you.
