Chrestotes Chapter

Contact: Ann Hausmann (Chapter President)

Next meeting: January 11

@ 11am at church in Hunsaker Hall

Membership in ‘The Order of the Daughters of the King’ is open to all women at every stage of life who desire a closer walk with the Lord. These Christian women, both lay and ordained, are strengthened through the discipline of a ‘Rule of Life’, and supported through the companionship of their sisters. Each member of the DOK is at a different stage of their Christian journey – some have just begun and some have been on this path for a long time. However, no matter where they are on their sacred journey, their primary goal is the same – to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others. The diversity of ages strengthens and enriches all our women. Junior DOK members benefit from the discipleship of experienced spiritual mentors, and Senior DOK members are invigorated by the fresh faith and energy of our younger women. Many senior chapters help spread the Kingdom to the next generation by sponsoring and supporting a Junior Daughters chapter at their churches.

The name of the DOK chapter here at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Farmers Branch is: “Chrestotes which in Greek χρηστότης means ‘kindness’.

Members of Chrestotes Chapter of DOK: Janet Dawson, Ann Hausmann, Lynn Koutney, Debbie Sharp, Faith Thomas, Rachel Thomas, and JoAnn Zastovnik.

Please know that any of our DOK women are happy to speak to you if you are interested in knowing more about the DOK or if you feel called to go through the study sessions required for becoming a member of the DOK. Let us know how we can serve you.

Theme verse: "The whole earth is filled with awe at Your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, You call forth songs of joy." - Psalm 65:8 (NIV)

Prayer: God of every grace and blessing, our true Source of joy, fill us with the energy of excitement and holy expectation. Surprise us with the wonder and splendor of a new dawn that we may be open to the future with all of its possibilities. Letting go of the timeworn and letting in the timely, may we bring the best of ourselves to this new day. With renewed resilience may we breathe in the expansiveness of Your will for us as we join together beholding a new horizon of hope. This is the now of forever. For His Sake, let us embrace every moment. Amen.
